Boulder Minor Bridge Inspection

Client: City of Boulder

Basis teamed with a local engineer to deliver 286 minor bridge inspections and a bridge planning effort for the City of Boulder. Basis led both the inspection and planning effort as well as the integration of the City’s new asset management software into the inspection process.

We were the first consultant team to directly input bridge inspection data into the City’s asset management software in the field. The City realized long term benefits of having the team at Basis input and review all data that will be used going forward on City bridge assets. At the conclusion of the project, the Basis team delivered a formal presentation to review all project findings. The attendees of the presentation included the bridge team and members of the public works management team. The presentation gave the group a better understanding of the condition of the bridges, financial needs of the program and long-term goals for the bridge asset.

Project Highlights:

The Basis team has worked closely with the City of Boulder to utilize the City’s new asset management software during this inspection cycle. Through the use of data enabled field tablets all inspection documentation has been completed electronically, while in the field, which has saved the City time and money while improving the quality of the data.
