Essential Walls Repair

Client: CDOT Region 1

Basis provided construction management services, which included inspection services such as Traffic control reviews, onsite inspection of the work, documentation and development of pay estimates. Sub consultants Yeh and Associates performed onsite material testing and material documentation. Emprise supported inspection needs when multiple sites were concurrently running.

Four existing retaining walls located in Jefferson County located at MP 256 on I-70, MP 14 on CO 74, MP 247 on US 285 and MP 14 on CO 470 were reconstructed. Soil nails were drilled through the existing retaining walls to shore up the failing walls and a new facing was then placed. The shotcrete facing was hand sculpted and stained to match the natural formations near the project site. Additional work was added to the project as a spring storm caused erosion to the embankment at the US 285 location. This additional work included a placing a wire faced wall to repair the washout.

Excellent dedication to safety

Basis Partners supported the CDOT project team throughout the construction, coordinated well with their subconsultants, and demonstrated excellent dedication to the safety of both construction personnel and the traveling public.

Basis Partners set a commendable standard for supporting CDOT in construction management, and I look forward to the possibility of collaborating on future projects.
